Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
I’m sure that most of us are pretty familiar with the verse above, Isaiah 26:3. I have heard it read and recited countless times. It’s easy to understand why! It is so comforting to know that God is always with those who trust him and giving them peace. But it’s not just peace, it’s perfect peace. The temporary ‘peace’ that the world may seem to offer, could never come close to comparing with the perfect peace that only comes from God.
When troubles and trials come in our life, it can be easy to get caught up in the hurt and pain. We can lose sight of the fact that our Heavenly Father is standing with arms open wide, ready to offer peace in the midst of turmoil.
Peace comes when we know and understand that God is in control. When we remember that he cares for us and wants to help us through the hard times in life. When we turn to him for the perfect peace that only He can offer. Peace comes from trust. Trusting God in everything. Trusting that he knows what’s best. Trusting that he will help us through whatever trial comes our way. Trusting that he can see past the storm in our life. Trusting that He will give us strength to face each day.
Because we trust in Him, we can have peace and hope. Because he lives, we can face tomorrow! It’s such a comfort to know that He is always there, just waiting for us to turn to Him! He is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. He is with us on the mountains, and he is with us in the valleys.
Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
There’s a song that my family has sang for years called, There Is Hope. Now, we sing it as part of our program that we do for meetings at other Churches. (Contact me for more information) It has such an amazing message, reminding us that God is always with us, offering peace and hope through the hard times. Here are the lyrics to the first verse and the chorus.
Sometimes we go through trials, that are so hard to bear
We lift our face toward heaven, saying God, are you really there
I’ve asked that same question, yes I’ve been down that road
And looking back, I now can tell you, He’s always let me know
Chorus: There is hope, so be strong, there is hope
God has sent me here to tell you, there is hope
And he knows just what you’re going through
And what the future holds, because Jesus lives
There is hope
I don’t have a video of my family singing this song, but Victorious Valley Girls Home does a wonderful job on it. (My link editor button isn’t working right. Sorry 🙂 Here’s the link to the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqvxnWQB_k0 )
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The peace of God passes all understanding! It is so much greater than any struggles or problem that could ever come in our life. No matter what comes, God is in control of every second, of every day, forever!
