Why I Started Blogging & A Giveaway!

Blog Giveaway 2

So now for a little story time…… I started working on this blog in late May of 2016. Looking back, I’m really not sure exactly why I decided to start blogging……. I think it was one of my many random, crazy ideas that I really had no clue was actually going to take off in the way that it did! If you know me, you know that I can be QUITE spontaneous when it comes to decision making or starting a new project…. Which in the case of just randomly deciding to start this blog, I would say that was one of my ideas that has been turning out pretty well 😉 Starting out, I really had no idea what I wanted to blog about or what the basic “theme” of this blog would be. But then after thinking about the name I had chosen, I realized that I should just do my best to write about life! So to put it simply, that’s what I try to do. My main goal with this blog is to write relatable posts that will be a blessing and encouragement to others; and to inspire them to do their best to live a sweet and simple life, the way that God intended! It has been quite the journey over the past year, and I have definitely learned so many things about blogging and what it takes to run a semi-successful blog. And, I would like to say that thank God, I think my posts have gotten a whole lot better than the first few that I published 😉 I will put links down below to my top 3 favorite posts, listed in order of favoritism.  (And I’m like 99.9% sure that’s not correct grammar, but I think you know what I mean…. )

  1. Handsome Isn’t All, Neither Is The Limp  “Everyone has an untold story. People are so much more than what you can see from the outside. In God’s eyes, you are not defined as an amazing skill that you have, your accomplishments, your failures, or the wealth and prestige that you may have in this world. You are so much more than that! Realize that everyone in this world is important in God’s eyes. Man, woman, and child. They are so much more than a name, a number, a social class, or a physical limitation or disability. You name it, they are worth so much more!”
  2. Why I’m Not A Feminist “Feminists claim that they are fighting for equal rights. When in reality, they are fighting to be superior. Some women have even admitted to not caring less about what happens to men. For that matter, they could care less about what happens to anybody other than themselves! They will even go so far as to murder their own children, in the name of ‘Woman’s Rights.’ How can they say that they are fighting for women’s rights when they are killing the smallest women in our country!? We are all precious in God’s eyes! That means everyone. Man, woman and child.”
  3.   Building Up The Little Ones  “It seems that often, people forget that their words, actions, and decisions WILL affect the lives around them. Most of us will never know the impact that we have on those around us. Especially the children! I am constantly amazed at the pure joy and innocence that young children have. But then, as the years go on and those same children reach the pre-teen and teen years, so much of that joy and confidence that they had, quickly disappears. As the parents, older siblings, friends, caregivers, and older people, we are left wondering, “What happened?””

If you haven’t read these posts yet, I would encourage you to go check them out and let me know what you think 🙂

I am so thankful and even a little overwhelmed at the many readers I have heard about from all over the world! Seriously though, it’s pretty amazing! Actually, let me just take a minute to list some of the countries……

Both of the winners will be given a copy of my original cd, As He Leads, AND a hardcover, dark blue, twilight garden journal. My favorite post is “Building Up the little ones”. We often forget that kids see everything and take it all to heart!

  2. If I have to say out of that list “Why I’m not a feminist” Would be a favorite but I love all of your “in search of… ” posts. Can’t say if I have just one favorite. 😉

  3. I really enjoyed browsing over your beginning posts from 2016! Lots of wonderful memories. Some things I noticed… your photos were all (or mostly) your own! Good memories of fun times- the tree in our front yard, my delicious Reuben sandwich on your birthday, the Iowa sunset from Grandma’s field, trips to the park or in a stream… all beautiful! Since I’m your mother, don’t put me in the giveaway… but I must say your piano CD is so beautiful and I am already happy for the 2 winners! Love you!
