Answering Reader’s Questions & Why I Write
Hello readers! I’ve received quite a few different questions from readers in the past few months, so today, I thought compiling a few of them into one post would be the most efficient way to answer them. So here we go! If I didn’t get to answering your question in this post, just let me know and I will…… Try to get to it by 2073.
Who is your favorite bible character? Why?
Very good question! I think I would have to say Joseph. I’ve always really admired the way he kept his good Christian testimony, no matter what the circumstances around him were. He never stopped trusting God, even when things got dark. No matter what trials and tests he had to go through, he kept right on serving God. And in the end, he was blessed so abundantly because of it!
What are some of your favorite hymns?
Come Thou Fount, It Is Well, & Blessed Assurance.
What is your favorite thing to do?
Umm. Wow. How in the world do you answer that? Let’s just say, LIVE LIFE.
What is your favorite bible verse?
What is your favorite quote?
Well, I couldn’t even begin to think of a favorite, (Seriously, there are so, so many amazing ones) but one that immediately comes to mind is actually an original quote that I have in my Instagram bio.
“Put simply, she was a bare feet and fresh air kind of gal; Always exploring, and always searching for the next adventure.”
I love it because it just seems like it so simply sums up…. Well, everything!
When is your birthday?
What is your favorite color?
Well, it’s some shade of blue, but I have no clue what it’s called. ………………Leaves to go find a color chart on Pinterest……………….. Okay, my favorite color is cobalt blue. And I have no idea why it has taken me so long to look that up, but it’s nice to finally know. Thanks for asking!
What is your favorite food?
Hmm…… My mom’s chicken and dumplings, and Chipotle’s taco salad bowls. Oh, also tacos and lasagna and chicken lo mein sound great too….. okay, I need to stop or I’m going to be writing this food list all day. Technically, I should probably be on a kale, spinach, grapefruit, and water diet….. But that also kinda sounds like torture right now, so I’m thinking about pushing that off for awhile…. 😉
What are three of your favorite blog posts that you have written?
What are a few of your top book recommendations?
Rebekah by Dr. Janet Walsh (Actually all of her books and commentaries. They are all fantastic. She is such a sweet, Godly lady to know, and an amazing author as well.)
Favorite movie of all time? Why?
My favorite movie is, The Magic Of Ordinary Days. It’s a Hallmark Hall Of Fame, and (I think) the sweetest movie I have ever seen. I’m not really a big movie watching person, but this one is just totally classic. Whether it’s a freezing cold winter snow day, I’ve had a really rough day, or I simply can’t decide what to watch, this is always the movie that I run to. It’s just….. So simple yet so sweet. *perfect*
Do you enjoy writing? If so, what does writing mean to you?
*Ahem* Asking me a question like that, you should be prepared for a really long answer….. Well, I do have a blog….. Which I am totally AWFUL at keeping posts published regularly, so never mind I guess that’s not the greatest example. In my personal life though, yes, I absolutely LOVE writing! Writing letters and stuff like that, nope, I just can’t do it. But writing in general? Yeeesss!!! “Life” journal writing makes up about 90% of my writing. I’m really not exactly sure what I love so much about keeping journals…. Maybe it’s knowing that no one else will ever read those thousands and thousands of pages that keeps me constantly spilling my heart out onto the empty pages. If I were to ever let someone read everything, they would know, well, literally everything. The stupid things, the silly things, the wonderful things, the tragic things, just everything. My writing is something private and special. Pages and pages of stories and memories that I can keep going back to. Thousands of words, telling the story of my life. Mostly, the untold story. The one that won’t ever be read by anyone, unless they are an amazingly loved and trusted person in my life. And I’m so glad for that. Yes, some pages are filled with heartbreak and the edges of the papers are stained with tears, but the much larger portion of pages is filled with words describing the most wonderful, amazing, and special times in my life. And even though I keep all of my journals as memories and keepsakes of my past, I mostly use them in anticipation of the future! Even the thought of starting a new journal fills me with so much excitement. What words will fill those pages? What all will have changed in my life by the time I finish filling it? Yes, I know that there will most likely be a few hard times, but there will also be some of the most amazing memories made!
Now, I want to hear from YOU! What are some of your favorite things? Do we have anything in common? How about writing? Do you keep journals of your life? If so, why? Let me know in the comments below!
