Quick & Efficient Full Body Workout For Your Busy Morning

Hello readers! So, as you could probably guess from the title…… Yes, this is a workout post. Now let me just stop right here to say, “What in the world?” Honestly, this blog really makes me laugh sometimes. There are SO many different kinds of blogs out there on the world-wide web; We have book blogs, food blogs, family blogs, christian blogs, everyday journal type blogs, beauty blogs, business blogs, photography blogs, and then all of a sudden…… A Sweet N Simple Life. Yes, this is the blog that I have stopped trying to fit into a specific boxed category, because it’s just not happening! I’ve finally come to the conclusion that the best way I can describe this blog, is by calling it an “inspirational lifestyle blog.” I guess that should about sum it up because I try to have inspirational, encouraging posts, but they are focused on, well, all of the random anythings & everythings in life! So we have inspirational posts, recipe posts, lifestyle posts, random fun posts, and now, even workout posts. Oh my. Hopefully you can keep up with all of these different random topics…. Well, if anything, it should keep all of you readers on your toes because you will never have even the slightest idea what I’m going to be posting about next 😉 Okay, stop distracting me……. let’s get to the post!

Working out…… Wow. If you’re anything like me, that word can sometimes sound a little daunting. But it doesn’t have to be! The ONLY thing it takes to keep up with a good, consistent workout schedule is determination. End of story. Just like everything else in life, living a healthy life, exercising, and eating right, is all going to take effort. Like it or not, exercising is extremely crucial to a healthy lifestyle. And thankfully, I’m speaking from experience when I say that you really can learn to love it!

Okay, so first things first……. Figure out how to fit it into your busy schedule. Whether it’s getting up 15 minutes earlier, deciding not to check your phone in the mornings until after your workout, whatever it is, figure something out! Everyone in this world has the same hours in the day, what they choose to do with that time is what makes the difference. When you say you “wish you had time to workout” Well, guess what? You do! Prioritize. Are you going to spend 20 minutes on Pinterest, or 20 minutes working out? It’s your choice. If something is important to you, you will figure out how to make time for it. No, working out might not sound very enjoyable at first, but you can do it! If anything, the thought of the long-term results of being healthy and in shape should be enough to keep you going!

I would suggest trying to combine at LEAST 4 or 5 of these for a quick morning workout. Of course, I’m guessing that if you do a quick workout in the morning, and then sit on the couch watching TV and eating junk food for the rest of the day…… Then yes, this short workout is going to be pretty pointless. BUT, if you have a busy life where you are active and moving around quite often, then I’ve found that this is the perfect addition to keep up muscle strength, and keep a toned, trim, healthy body.

  • 50 Jumping Jacks (I count a full up and down as 1. So depending on how some people count this, it would be 100)
  • 50 Crunches
  • 50 Bicycle Crunches
  • 50 High Knees (Each Leg)
  • 50 Lunges (Each Leg)
  • 50 Squats
  • 50 Flutter Kicks (Or at least 30 Seconds, which may seem like a long time when you’re just starting out)
  • Plank (Just as long as possible. This is great for building core strength)
  • Push ups (Okay…… This one….. Any other girls out there who you just plain awful at push ups? Please tell me I’m not the only one. *sigh* I’m making progress, so hopefully I’ll get it someday soon.)

There are so many more exercises that can be added to that list to mix things up and give it more variety, but that should give you a pretty basic idea. Also, if you are just starting out, I would suggest mixing it up and doing 5 reps of 10, or 2 reps of 25 for each of these exercises. Push yourself and work hard at it, but don’t totally overdo it and make yourself hate working out. It should become enjoyable! Start small and add more each day or as you are able.

Do you workout regularly? What are some of your best tips and ideas to stay motivated and consistent? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let me know in the comments down below!

Don't forget, sharing is caring!

  1. Wow! This was really good, Cynthia! Great post about all of this! It’s hard for me to stay motivated when it comes to working out! It’s also more enjoyable for me when I can have some good music going! 😉 Thanks for the post! I love your blog! Oh, and don’t worry, you’re not the only girl who has a difficult time with pushups! 😉

    1. Oh yes, music is an amazing help to make working out more enjoyable! Ha ha, and thank you, it’s nice to know I’m not the only who struggles with that 😉

  2. I sympathize with the push ups. It took me awhile to work up to them, and it was always slightly embarrassing when I couldn’t do one at my Martial Arts school, so that was one of my motivations!

  3. Actually this is kind of crazy because I just began a new running schedule this morning and was looking for a little bit of a routine to do with it. So I will be doing a few of these tomorrow morning! ❤

Um I can do maybe one good-looking pushup and then my arms are absolutely dead?? I have 0 arm strength (but thankfully I’m really good at core excersises instead) Aaanyway this is super useful especially for somebody who spends their day at a desk in front of a screen!

    1. Awe, I’m so glad to hear that this could be a little bit of a help to you! Good luck with your new running schedule! And I’m totally with you on that arm strength…… 😉

  4. I actually really enjoy working out! I like to run outside and do cardio/strengthening in the house. Plus, you’ve gotta have fun music! XD
    Great post!

  5. As always this was a great post! I can do push ups but they are definitely something you have to practice! My sister’s and I (not including Lily pretty much at all times) like to wake up at around 5:00 in the morning and we have bible time and then walk about 2-3 miles together and talk while we walk and then wherever we turn around we run the whole way home ( don’t worry we take water! Lol !) and then we come home and do lots of other excise related things and then around 6:30 we make/eat breakfast. So really my motivation is my sister’s! Love, Julia

  6. Hi Cynthia.
I’m a new follower. No offence, but your font and posts are really crowded and hard to read. It would really help a lot if you did maybe larger spaces between the lines, and a font that’s easier to read.

Just thought I’d mention it. As a fellow blogger, it’s helpful when tips are shared, so I thought I’d share. No offence intended at all. I just had a hard time reading it and figured other people might too. This is the sort of thing that causes a high bounce rate on blogs.

I’ve stopped trying to do push ups. For my PE hours this year, I’m mostly hiking and walking, and running. It’s just easier for me to work my legs rather than my core. *cringe*

    1. Hello Libby, and welcome, it’s great to have you! Yes, I am aware of the small font and am realizing that it may be hard to read. I JUST switched over to this theme recently, and I absolutely LOVE it, except for the small font problems…… So now I’m searching for a better theme and/or trying to figure out if I can just change the font and the size. Sorry for any inconvenience, I’m trying to get it taken care of as soon as possible ☺
