January Life & Blogging Review

Well, the first month of 2018 really flew by! I’m quickly realizing that the busier I get, the faster time seems to fly. Which is definitely kind of bittersweet….. Life has been getting busier and busier lately, but thankfully things have been going really well! In the future, I think I’m going to have to jot down little things throughout the month that should be mentioned in the monthly review post, because at the end of the month, everything just kind of blurs together and it’s hard to remember specific things and events. But, I will do my best!

The biggest highlight of January probably would’ve been starting my nanny type job. Things have gone amazing since day 1, and I am so, so thankful to have a job that I absolutely love! Each day just gets better, and I am so blessed to have such a great job.

And this post makes number 8 for this month!

Umm……. Okay, so it’s quite difficult to try to look back on an entire month. After awhile, it kind of all blurs together. This month, I actually didn’t bake as much as I normally do, just because of all of the other things that were going on. I think I would have to say that my cooking highlight of the month would be Apple Slab Pie. My awesome grandmother has inspired me with her amazing ability to whip up the most delicious apple pies you’ve ever had without even using a recipe; So, that being said, this month it was a mini goal of mine to figure out how she does it. And yes, I’m actually quickly getting the hang of it! (And the family’s definitely not complaining 😉 ) And yes, a recipe will be coming soon!

This month was not a great month for creating. A few days ago, I picked up my crochet hooks and yarn and started crocheting again for the first time in months. Now I’m kind of on a time crunch because I need this blanket finished within the next week for a baby gift.

Well, I spent 3 days at my best friend Danielle’s house….. Technically, she only lives like an hour away, but that should still count as traveling, right? Yes, totally. Also, I just need to take a minute to proclaim to the world, (well actually, just the small percentage of the world that’s reading this) I have the 2 best friends in the world. Seriously. My 2 best friends are amazing and I honestly can’t even imagine life without them! Wow, I’m off topic. And yes, in case you haven’t guessed yet, there should be some friendship themed posts coming soon. So, back to the travel….. I was at her house for a few days and of course had an absolutely wonderful time! Mostly because she totally knows how to stay on my good side, by feeding me Cheezit’s and chicken lo mein…….. And also because she’s a pretty cool person 😉

I’m still alive. Enough said.

In February…… I’m looking forward to being one month closer to graduation, working a lot more hours with my new job, continued blog growth & changes, and a whole bunch of other things!

  1. My month was great with finding out I’m going to be Aunt Joy, learning a new instrument, and many other great things! In February I’m looking forward to a homeschool play that a few of my friends from church and I put together. I think a neat post to read would be a post about siblings and fun things to do with them and your favorite thing about each of your siblings. Have a blessed day! Love, Joy
