Totally healthy, and totally delicious. Seriously, what more could you ask for? Oh, something that’s also super easy to make? Check! I’m confident that anyone who has been to Kindergarten can make these and they will turn out perfectly.

Confession time: 80% of the time, I am either thinking about food, looking at food, making food, or eating food. Yes, that means that I’m a big snacker 🙂 That also means that if I was constantly snacking on unhealthy, junk food, I would be extremely unhealthy and weigh somewhere around 400 pounds. Because of that, I am always on the search for healthy, protein filled snack options. Protein filled foods are wonderful because they give you energy, AND keep you filled up longer, even when you’re eating less.
These peanut butter protein balls have only FIVE ingredients, (not counting the chocolate chips) and take less than 15 minutes to make. How awesome is that? It’s simply:
Out of all of the healthy snacks that I’ve eaten over the years, these are by far, my favorite. Yes, they’re really that good! These are mostly meant for snacking, but I also eat them as breakfasts and for quick, on-the-go meals. And with the sweetness that the honey adds, these can even pass as dessert! (Maybe not if you’re someone with a huge sweet tooth, but I think they’re perfect.) The chocolate chips are of course, optional. I find that just a few mini chocolate chips add a nice little crunch, but they are still delicious without it. You can also substitute the chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips, carob chips, or cacao nibs.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls
- 1 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter Smooth
- 5 Tbsp Honey
- 1/3 Cup Wheat Bran
- 1/3 Cup Flax Seed
- 2 Cups Oatmeal
- 1/2 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips (optional)
In a large bowl, stir the peanut butter & honey until smooth.
Stir in wheat bran & flax seed.
Mix in oatmeal, half a cup at a time.
Fold in mini chocolate chips.
Shape into tablespoon sized balls.
Put in a parchment paper lined storage container, and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. (They'll most likely get eaten before then anyways!)
