April Life & Blogging Review
I can’t believe that I’m already writing the April life & blogging review post! It seems like each month passes even faster then the last. April has been a wonderful month, I don’t even know where to begin with this review…. This past week has been the busiest week of my life, and it was absolutely amazing! So many wonderful memories were made that will last a lifetime. There were so many different things going on, but in short, our church had our annual Faith & Family conference, and we had our sweet missionary friends here all of the way from the Philippines. Sad goodbyes were said last night, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again as soon as possible! (They’re trying to talk me into moving to the Philippines….. You will just have to wait and see what happens, and that’s all I’m going to say for now 😉 )
Ready for some more highlights from the month? Great! Let’s keep reading!

Beyond All Measure
This was my “fun” book for the month. Overall, it was a pretty good read, but it didn’t have the strongest storyline. The interaction between the two main characters seemed…. Weak. The author didn’t do a very good job of building a friendship between them. The almost never talked, and when they did, it was usually a simple hello, goodbye, or an argument. But then suddenly she was supposed to be accepting a marriage proposal? Yeah, no. The storyline didn’t flow very well at all.
From Good To Grace
I was asked to be part of a bible/book study group for this book, and I’m so glad that I ignored my schedule that was screaming “NO!” and said I would join. I haven’t finished this book yet, but I *might* be reading ahead of the group because it’s just so good 😉 This book is a must read for anyone who has ever struggled with the daunting image of perfection.
Saving My Assassin
I just started this one, but it’s been a great read so far, and I’m looking forward to finishing it!
Ok….. I honestly don’t even know what to say. I just listen to the same music over and over and over again. And really, I listen to SO many different things in a month, it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few albums!
Let me put it this way, just get Spotify! Seriously, if you don’t have Spotify yet after I’ve mentioned how amazing it is like a million and one times…. Then I don’t even know what to say. I listen to EVERYTHING on Spotify. You can listen by album, artist, genre, or playlist, so there are so many endless options! Just get Spotify, listen to whatever music you want, and you can thank me later!
Sorry, I know this is only 2, but my image insert isn’t working correctly and I don’t have time to go searching through files of pictures. But it’s okay, look how beautiful these flowers are! I think Spring is finally here!
I have been using the book of Psalms as a countdown to graduation day. It’s such a creative way to countdown to a big event or an exciting day, while adding some variation to your normal bible study. I started the countdown around day 60, so I started reading in Psalms 60, then the next day I read 59, the next was 58, etc. On the day of graduation, I will be reading Psalms 1.
Blogging Review >>>
April blogging definitely had its ups and downs, but even with the downs, I was still able to post consistently, and smash my monthly goals.
For those of you who don’t know this yet, this month, I did something that I always said I would NEVER do as a blogger….. I unpublished a post. Yes, you read that right. I deleted a post. I always said I would try my best to handle negativity well, but this time, I just couldn’t deal with it, so I took the easy way out. And yes, I do regret it. And yes, I will be republishing the original post. Big apologies to all of the readers who really enjoyed it! Anyways, let’s get on to happier things….
I was able to publish posts consistently, which is a MAJOR win, considering how crazy busy this month has been. This post makes 10 for the month! (11, including the one that I deleted.)
April Blogging Goals
- Focus on working ahead and scheduling posts – I did slightly better on this then I did last month.
- 800 Pinterest Followers – Well this was something that I *thought* was an unrealistic goal, but apparently it wasn’t! I’m currently at 1,128. So yes, that was 728 new followers, instead of the 400 that I was hoping for. Also, I’m at an average of 157,000 views a month, so that’s been great!
- 225 bloggers in the Pinterest Sharing Board – As of right now, there are 231 different bloggers!
- Create a freebie of some kind for the email list – Well I didn’t accomplish this one at all, because instead…… I’m creating a course! Yes, that’s right, I’m creating a Pinterest/blogging/marketing course. I’m not sure exactly when it will be finished, but IM looking forward to releasing it and sharing it with you all! It will be at least 3 or 4 months, and countless hours of work, but I’m so excited for it to be finished! And spoiler alert: It’s going to be detailed. Extremely in-depth and detailed.
- Have a post reach 500 shares – This was accomplished on the very FIRST day of the month!
May Blogging Goals
My May blogging goals are more general then April’s were. Since most of my work in the month of April was focused on growing traffic, I’m going to focus on affiliate marketing in May. I’m not sure exactly what I’ll be doing, but I have partnered with Share A Sale, so that will probably be where most of my work will be focused. I’ll give an update at the end of the month to let you know what has been accomplished!
So now I want to hear from YOU! How was your month? Did it fly by as fast as mine did? What are you looking forward to in the month of May? Let me know in the comments down below!
